INTENTION

The action takes place in 2022, in an improbable and futuristic Paris. The atmosphere is sometimes cloudy and black, sometimes extremely full of light. Marcus Venère is a lovable yet dark, brutal yet charming character who takes us on his revenge trip

The country was deeply sinking into a socio-political-economic crisis. After a World War, the government decided to establish a lay-off ban to stop rising joblessness. This measure against unemployment was supposed to be favorable to employees, but was far from being a good solution, as they became more and more lazy at work. This impacted on Marcus’s company negatively.

This series portrays a man whose life has been destroyed by the system: voluntary liquidation, divorce and depression. Marcus wants to kill those who caused his collapse. It is a man’s extreme reaction to injustice. In the vein of Dexter, the plot focuses on the evolution of Marcus’s personality.

Venere has the same form and dynamic as Dexter, but we wish to make it more like the last James Bond movies, Casino Royal or Quantum of Solace. It is an action-packed saga taking place in a dark and sophisticated atmosphere, Paris as we see it in fifteen years (see also Paris 2054, an animation movie).

Finally, it is a satiristic series that parodies the modern society of the beginning of the 21st century. The bill which was passed urgently by the General Assembly intends to put an end to the crises triggered by the war. It is a fictive representation of a draft bill made during 2008 by an extreme left party. From a former company leader’s perspective, we discover what work means to employees and employers. Commitment to work as we know today exists no more.
